Happy Friday, cats and kittens, and welcome back to our behind-the-scenes peek at Plaid Tidings at Tupelo Community Theatre. Can you dig it? We’re just 20 days away from opening night!
As promised earlier this week, you can now check out this intro video for Justin Smith, who’s bringing Sparky’s punchy personality front and center:
How It’s Going
Since our last dispatch, the Plaids have been polishing up the whole shebang while weaving the props into the choreography with smooth, easy style. Yours truly (Kevin Steele) has officially moved from the wings of the audience to the wings of the stage, joining the backstage crew to hustle props to the fellas as they dash off between moments.
Timing is everything, especially during the big Ed Sullivan number, where all four Plaids have only three minutes and eleven seconds to pull off that wild whirlwind of a routine.
And now, for a little pre-holiday treat, I’ve got a sneak peek at one of Smudge’s featured moments when he starts his warm, wintry solo on “Let It Snow.”
Thanks for spending a slice of your Friday with us – tune in again on Tuesday for an introduction from John Carroll, stepping into the role of Frankie.
